MAXI-BEAM® Sensors
 Banner Logo
Maxi-beam . Modular sensors: select a sensor head for the desired sensing mode, an ac or dc power block, and an optional output timing logic module (on/off delay or one-shot)
. Power blocks are available for a wide range of supply voltages
. Sensor head is rotateable in 90-degree steps for versatility in mounting
. Most sensor heads allow selectable response times
. Power Power blocks are available for a wide range of supply voltages
. Power blocks are available with either solid-state or electromechanical relay output; dc hookup or 2-wire or 3- and 4-wire ac
. Wiring block with internal wiring chamber can remain in mounted in place allowing remaining modules to be changed
. NEMA 1, 3, 4, 12, and 13

 Specifications

Construction
Molded VALOX® housings. Acrylic lenses. Electronics fully epoxy-encapsulated. NEMA 1, 3, 4, 12, and 13. Cross-hole limit-switch mounting. Internal wiring chamber. Various mounting brackets available.

Dimensions
Dimensions approximately 4.5" high x 1.6" wide x 1.9" deep (114 x 40 x 48 mm).

Sensing Modes, Ranges, and Light Source Types
Opposed: 15 feet (4,5 m) or 300 feet (90 m) infrared
Retroreflective: 30 feet (9 m) visible or 15 feet (4,5 m) visible polarized
Diffuse: 30 inches (0,75 m) or 60 inches (1,5 m) infrared
Convergent: Focus at 1.5 inches (38 mm) visible or infrared
Fiber optic: Glass fiber optic; visble red or infrared
Fixed-field: 2 inches (50 mm) or 4 inches (100 mm) infrared

Indicator: Located on top of scanner block. AID (tm) system LED lights when the sensor is seeing its modulated light source, and pulses at a rate proportional to the strength of the received light signal. AID system is patented: U.S. patent number 4356393.

Adjustments
Sensor GAIN control (top of sensor). Timing logic adjustment (on side of optional logic module).

Supply Voltages
DC power blocks for: 10 to 30V dc or 12 to 30V dc.
AC power blocks for: 105 to 130V ac or 210-250V ac (50/60 Hz).
NOTE: A "universal" power block is available: 12 to 250V ac or 12 to 30Vdc (solid-state output).

Power Block Output Types and Capacities
DC powered models: Bipolar; one SPST sinking (NPN) and one sourcing (PNP) open-collector transistor, 250 mA maximum (each output). Electromechanical relay models are ac or dc input (SPST or SPDT).
AC powered models: SPST SCR (3/4 amp maximum), 2-wire or 3- and 4-wire models.
